It is inevitable to use stone in decoration. Choosing stone is undoubtedly a challenge for novices. Buying marble, floor tiles and other stones can easily meet the challenge of stone selection as long as you follow the following four steps.
One view: that is, to observe the surface structure of the stone with the naked eye. Generally speaking, stone with a uniform fine-grain structure has a delicate texture and is the best stone material; stone with a coarse-grained and unequal-grained structure has poor appearance, uneven mechanical properties, and slightly poor quality. In addition, due to the influence of geological action, natural stone often produces some thin veins and micro-cracks in it. The stone is most likely to rupture along these parts and should be removed. As for the lack of edges and corners, it affects the appearance, and you should pay special attention when choosing.
The second measure: measure the size of the stone, so as not to affect the splicing, or cause the pattern, pattern and line deformation after splicing, which will affect the decorative effect.
Three listening: listening to the percussion sound of the stone. Generally speaking, a stone with good quality, dense and uniform interior and no microscopic cracks will have a crisp and pleasant knocking sound; on the contrary, if there are microscopic cracks or veinlets inside the stone, or the contact between particles becomes loose due to weathering, the knocking sound is clear and pleasant. The sound was hoarse.
Four tests: use a simple test method to test the quality of the stone. Usually, a small drop of ink is dropped on the back of the stone. If the ink quickly disperses and leaches out, it means that the particles inside the stone are loose or there are microscopic cracks, and the quality of the stone is not good; on the contrary, if the ink drop does not move in place, it means The stone has a good dense texture.
